The first release on New Vague will be out shortly and I couldn’t be more pleased to start the label this way. The first release is the second album by acoustic improvising ensemble le son de l’os ‘old sun’. Le son de l’os features Shizuo Uchida (bass), Yuko Hasegawa (guitar, voice), and Masahiro Deguchi (guitar). The music is unique: comparisons could be made to Keiji Haino’s Nijiumu project perhaps or the early recordings of the Spontaneous Music Ensemble, but those are only rough signposts, to what is a unique musical ensemble, a music that feels almost as if it were created for an early morning ritual, the sun making its first appearance on the distant horizon. The release is on LP only and is limited to 300 copies. The striking cover is silkscreened by ace sceenprinter Alan Sherry of Siwa. Much more detailed information will be forthcoming, but for those who wish to reserve a copy please contact me directly at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
